Onyx Color: Cappuchino | Tile: Ragno - Boardwalk 13" x 13" porcelain at 1/16" spacing with Quartzlock Wheat grout.
This bathroom suffered from being old and dingy, with a dated 1970's avocado green tile, a linoleum floor, extremely basic cabinetry and old cultured marble countertops. This home had 2 full bathrooms, and so we remodeled one right after the other. As soon as the grout had cured on the other bathroom, and it became usable, we moved into this bathroom, creating a functional transition for the family. In the end, we were very happy with how this bathroom turned out. It now has a clean modern look, with increased functionality from the larger vanity and the sliding tray wall cabinet.
Onyx is a beautiful product, that is cost effective, easy to clean, and has very little room for any water infiltration. It's virtually a zero maintenance system, especially with the sealed waterproof substrate we put behind the panels to offer a double layer of protection against moisture. The new cabinet offers better organization with a series of sliding trays that can be raised or lowered like any adjustable shelf. This allows for 100% customizability after the cabinet is installed.
This shower door was installed by Fountain Glass of Olathe, and while they acted as our subcontractor, we did not mark up their fee at all. We like to sub out this specialty trade, because they are fast and do wonderful work. Also, they offer a warranty and have all the equipment to transport and modify these doors without damaging them. This is the "semi-frameless" series, where the glass is 1/4" tempered glass, and it is also available with obscuring patterns for increased privacy. The homeowners opted for the clear door, which shows off the beauty of the Onyx system, and is easier to clean. We love this clean and modern look!
